I know this is a rumours not speculation page but would anyone else have Zeefuik back at Hearts? He's a free agent apparently and was pretty good in spite of his short stint in maroon. He might only bring a dozen or so goals a year but that's still eleven more than Sammon seems likely to.

Any news on who this winger is the RN is looking at? Personally I'd be recalling one of the loan boys rather than sign a new player that will likely force a young player out of the squad.

I cannot see the difference between recalling a loanee and signing a new player. Either way it could lead to a young player being pushed out.
The most realistic signing possibility is the Irish winger Horgan who wouldn't cost an arm and a leg and seems highly rated.

Just read that RN is looking for a winger - why not bring in a proven goalscorer? IMHO I don't think that Sammon is up to scratch and pairing him with Watt is counter productive. I like the look of Johnsen though. Both he and Muirhead could be great partners for a decent target man.
Maybe we have too many hard working forwards and not enough goal hungry strikers.?

its time robbie fell on his sword, he and craig are turning hearts into a joke team, no tactics or game plan, fans reaction at the end of yesterdays game said it all. hamilton not up to it, cowie past it, paterson thinks he's the top boy at tynie, plays for himself, is not going to sign a new deal so hearts can cash in on him, says it all, ann budge must have rose tinted glasses if she thinks the brand of football, we get week in week out is anywhere near good enough for hearts, hearts can't afford to sack robbie nd craig, so unless they have the balls to put their hnds up and say they've done all they can, we will be stuck with them for years to come.

I get the confusion around certain signings and the situation with players like McGhee and King. I too am baffled that Neilson has loaned out two players who would serve as great back up for the first team. But I also know that both players want to play week in, week out. Clearly Neilson thinks that they're not good enough to play every game yet. Not being a football manager myself I have to take it on faith that he's doing what he thinks is best for the club.
As far as 'the quicker he's gone the better' goes, with whom would you replace him? What coach is going to come to Hearts when the fans are as fickle as those of other clubs when it comes to the perception of success? We finished third in the SPL in our first season back. For me that's pretty much fantastic on the field of expectation! What also adds a little sweetness to it is that last season was also our coaches second season in charge of a club. The man is learning his trade and he's done pretty well all things considered! This season is the test of his character and the test of the fan's characters too. Will we be there to lift the heads of the players when they're losing, or will we walk away in disgust proclaiming our head coach is terrible simply because we have an over inflated sense of where our club should be? Myself I will be there in the stands until the very end, every game I can make.
The end of the season is the only time you can review players' or coaches' performance in my opinion.
Now rumours of transfers, anyone?
