Thoughts on last night, not so much the game itself but the young lads getting run out. wasn't at the game but a lot of my mates that were weren't happy with the team selection giving the number of travelling supporters as usual. In my eyes for a club like hearts it's a cup that's definitely not a priority and these games should be used for younger players to get chance as they will be needed at some point this season. The league should be the sole focus this year and if the first team boys had picked up knocks you find yourself having to play these young lads anyway. think Robbie will take stick from a few negative fans but believe it's for the good of the club over the season

If so, do Hearts still expect the punters to pay over and above their ST money to watch meaningless LC and SC ties?

No they shouldnt

thats hearts fans choices tho, there's no obligation to go to these games. through history most teams try different/younger players in these games and you should no that. it has to be done to develop players or there not ready for when needed over season. these players tried to win game but fell well short I beleive

Most clubs would have been more upfront about the tie being treated as an u20 game, before selling 3, 500 away tickets though.
The clubs acknowledged it was an error in judgement and subsequently got the balance right between frnge youth plaers and senior pros' in the Stenny game.
Time to move on and look forward instead to a near sell out game against the Bairns on saturday.

Yes I agree with you interms of hearts being more up front with fans, Robbie did say there would be a lot of changes possibly not before tickets were sold tho. absolutely done the job against stenny in the league cup in which is seen as a major trophy tho. yeh total agree lessons we're learnt and time to move on
