Heard from Dundee united fan today that Bjorn Johnsen was at Tannidice for loan talks today. No idea if it's true, seems unlikely to me as I think he would get better offers abroad but that's the rumour.

Also read today that st Johnston are looking at Sammon.

Be glad to see them both go although I feel another manager would get more out of both players.

I'm not a Cathro out man, and I really like all players we have bought in this summer but having watched the east fife game I do have concerns for the season ahead. 2 passes to get to a wide man instead of one 30 yard straight forward pass, also noticed far to many passes behind players causing them to come back. At amateur level you get told to play the ball infront to allow the player to come onto. Smith would have terrorised their full back with all the room he had with more but instead had to come back to collect the ball and then passed it back inside as the space was gone. It's pre season but I still expected better, simple things that lift the tempo and allow us to get in behind teams before they get the numbers back.

The quality of the EF game was reduced due to the horrific conditions, I was watching it on Hearts TV in Greece (so the connection was awful) but the prominent sound was the torrential rain.

I've read (a while back) English clubs were interested in Bjorn but nothing's come of it. which is a shame.

Heard about Sammon too, I think it will happen for sure.

Don't worry yet, plenty of time for some more quality signings!

Yiou think Sammon will happen for sure.
Have they not agreed terms with Myles Storey of Aberdeen?

Heard today that hearts have offered a contract to Celtic winger Paul McMillan who was on loan at dunfermline last season. Apparently a good offer but he is taking some time to consider it, which doesn't sound promising.

Also heard that we spoke with Raith defender mvoto but he chose dunfermline instead and that two weeks ago cathro personally flew out to Portugal to discuss a loan with Ryan Gauld and his representatives but unclear how that went, prob not very good if he hasn't signed already.

Paper talk of hearts in for Berra and marc mcnulty. I think both would be great additions to the team with good pedigree. Exactly the sort of players I want us to sign so hopefully get them both.

Which tabloid is this in as i've only see the berra news nothing about marc mcnulty.

2.) 10 May 2017 16:44:17
Scotsman, says hearts and hibs have enquiried and quotes him as saying he's interested. Free agent now so don't see why we should wait just get him signed.

Would love to see some wide attacking players now brought in, someone like GMS hopefully, maybe a loan deal.

3.) 10 May 2017 21:33:53
McNulty is a one in four scorer in lower leagues, don't count Livingston career, not inspiring for me.

4.) 10 May 2017 21:53:34
Mcnulty won't join us he's a celtic fan he hates hearts portsmouth are keen on signing him after him impressing while on loan there.

5.) 19 May 2017 10:02:20
Marc has joined Coventry City so transfer for him.

So Muirhead has been confirmed, with the Belgium fullback and Sammon to follow later this week. Any rumours on anyone else?

Reily away to Dunfermline on loan, I can't help think as a club we let him down this season. He was overlooked to many times for Dauda and in and out of the team with formation changes. As a second striker he rarely let us down, his workrate is outstanding and forced many defensive errors. His biggest faults for me is that he wasn't selfish or clinical enough. Young guy who I hope gets another crack at things with us.

Celtic and Aberdeen must be really worried for next season lol

2.) 16 Jun 2016 00:06:59
I would be worried if I were you, if you don't win this ONE horse race then you'll be even more of a laughing stock.

3.) 16 Jun 2016 18:40:47
We will be back up next season no playoffs either mate but I would be worried signing second rate players like muirhead lol

4.) 16 Jun 2016 22:36:12
Like what yous done with keatings? lol

5.) 17 Jun 2016 14:05:44
Keatings class mate would keep him rather than Cummings

6.) 17 Jun 2016 18:43:01
Hibs class isn't that good pal

7.) 17 Jun 2016 23:19:08
Half your players couldn't lace keatings Cummings or McGinns boots mate

8.) 18 Jun 2016 00:13:18
Aye, because they dinnae want to touch them . Jamie, Sam, Call, Arnaud, Jack, The new LB and Billy are all 10x the players you'll ever have, shame your wee team cannae get out the DIDDY league. #WeeTeamTrouble #1-5

9.) 18 Jun 2016 00:58:57
Couldn't lace keatings boots? Considering we let him go because he wasn't good enough for premiership football and now he's YOUR second string striker now. Championship striker at best.

10.) 18 Jun 2016 11:13:32
Pmsfl jelouse is not good were not bothered if Cummings stays or goes would take the £1m+ for him and think we have a couple of Scotland capped players in our team there's not many players in the yams team that would get a game for hibs so maybe we're even yer keepers and muirhead are even being slated by your own fans as not good enough a team with hearts need a quality manager and should be progressing to sign top players not second rate but good luck to you in the coming season as a true Edinburgh team supporter

11.) 24 Jun 2016 20:06:20
hahaha GLORYHIBS you were clamped son, slagging off Muirhead who is just a young boy when you took on players who were not good enough for us. You have a pure brass neck after all the strikers who couldn't or didn't have the desire to score for your wee club. But of course your big brother will most likely help you out for the 3rd year running now that the super successful Lennon has come in to improve on his ace managerial record that includes losing the title to the master tactician Ally McCoist in his first season, then won 3 titles in leagues that were one horse races. His euro record is really impressive against teams that were genuine challenges is great, 12 games 3 wins 3 draws 6 defeats, including the champions league run that only came about because after getting hammered by Sion they got back in due to a ineligible sub. Other highlights include being put out by Braga (who we beat a few years before) and Utrecht. Long live the ginger messiah!

I use to post a lot but haven't for while due to all the nonsense posts however I feel I have to say my opinion about current matters.

To the guy who posted he would not renew his season ticket as the administrator is working on behalf of Romanov. What a load of rubbish, all the Lithuanian directors are gone, including Roman Romanov and the club can now be managed properly and hopefully sold, however the fans need to pull together and buy season tickets to give him a fighting chance.

To the rest of rubbish posts, McHattie, Holt, Walker, Paterson, Tapping, Robinson, McGowan and Smith are the future of this club. Great prospects who have all done there bit in a tough season. All these players are capable of doing well and moving on to a higher standard and hopefully bringing in a big fee at the same time. That's the only long term way this club will survive! (Same as every club in the country outside the old firm).

Now to the persons who have slagged Stevenson, McHattie, McDonald and more. Are you mad. Stevenson although has not played to the standard he did previously he has worked hard and should be appreciated. Maybe its more down to the circumstances and change in personnel around him rather than him being poor. The cup final was evident of how hard he works and his love of this club. McDonald has been loyal to this club and yes is not a Gordon, Niemi or Kello he is decent and learning and i'm glad to have him. I still believe he will be great asset t the club. McHattie was thrust into the first team and has shown remarkable improvements and a defo a star of the future.

Major respect to Stevenson and McDonald for taking a wage cut too, Hearts men who need to stay for the fight. The ONLY player who I would be glad to the back of is Sutton as he has not shown anything to merit his wages the rest of the boy left need to stay. As does Locke and Murray. Hearts men who know what is best for the club.

Lets show our team and the world what makes a Hearts fan, the loyalty and passion and get behind the team. the end.

To be fair to the guy getting mixed up about the role of the administrators he's likely confused after witnessing the tactics employed by Duff & Phelps over at Ibrox.

Speaking of Ibrox and the new club who play there it's heartening to see the response of Jambos who are showing none of the paranoid 'kicking us when we're down' victim mentality of that lot. And I used to think it was their rivals who were the paranoid ones.

No matter what happens let's see this through with dignity.

2.) Agree Robo and No2, time for all to get behind Stevo and Co and dig deep to see the Club, without the whinge, through until its sold on to new owners or hopefully us the fans through FOH.

Over 140 appearances for a club he's been at for over a decade. It's the clubs decision to let him go for free not his and the club decision not to play him recently. Has been a big player for the club in the last few seasons so has my respect and I think given a chance will give his best this season.

What has walker done to deserve to rot for the next year? Just because he won't sign a new contract that means he becomes a hate figure? The guy came through our youth system and gave a lot to the club and is happy to honour his contract! He's not refusing to play or coming out into the press trying to engineer a move, he's conducted himself well and just said he will not be extending his contract, which he has every right to do.

I personally hope he stays, has a great season and earns a move to England rather than strengthen a rival club but if he goes to sevco in the end, I hope they get beat every week but that he's there best player.

So your saying the hearts head coach has no say on signings, tactics and selections? Really?

I can't believe that's the case, Neil Alexander recently wrote that levein was at every training session and in the changing room before during and after games but just wispered away to Neilson, he said he still believed Neilson decided tactics and selection.

I know the head coach won't have final say on signings but he must have a influence, Austin McPhee has clearly influenced the influx of n Ireland players.

{Ed007's Note - OK then. If you don't know what a DOF - especially your own - does there's no point talking about this.}

Ed that's true but the club say CL doesn't pick the team or tactics so surely the head coach identifies what type of player he needs for his tactics so will have to influence any singings.

Robo28

{Ed007's Note - I don't think that's how it works at Hearts. CL will have set out a style of play etc for the club to play at every level, it's up to the coach to teach players that system. I'd be surprised if that's not one of the major problems in finding a new coach, most of the guys linked want to be managers and allowed to wheel and deal in the transfer market to put their own stamp on the team.
If a coach or manager went to Levein and said for example that he wanted a new LB and Levein said he didn't think you needed one then there wouldn't be a new LB, simple as that.}

Freeman was clear that he wanted the job, I would say 3 folk pulling out for a job they applied for is a lot, can't think of any other clubs I have heard this happening too. Maybe hearts are negiotating with a club for there manager, that's fair enough but if it's daly, pressley or Hartley as expected there is clearly no reason for it. Transfer window closes soon not leaving a new manager much time to assess and recommend what he wants.

Robo28

{Ed007's Note - You're looking for a coach not a manager, Craig Levein decides who you sign mate.}
