Freedman for me, has managed at a high level, good record with bringing on young players.

10 Aug 2017 17:15:57
If u look at his stats as a manager he ain't got a patch on mclaren he has 30 odd % win ratio mclaren has won titles reached cup finals.

10 Aug 2017 20:20:55
all McLaren's done is win a title with a Dutch side hearts can do better.

10 Aug 2017 22:30:05
Got Middlesbrough to UEFA cup final and freedman only been in championship.

10 Aug 2017 22:54:33
Mclaren had money thrown at him. Freedman worked for the clubs that were in turmoil, massive difference.

11 Aug 2017 00:29:59
Oh well see what happens still good managers.

09 Aug 2017 01:29:28
New manager set to be announced by the end of this week as well as the third kit.

Agree3 Disagree4

09 Aug 2017 15:32:05
Third kit on hearts website already. Quite nice.

09 Aug 2017 22:26:30
Rubbish 3rd strip launched yesterday and it's a nice strip.

08 Aug 2017 15:55:41
I would like edgar davids as manager, tactical brain with old school mentality and contacts in Dutch youth is great. My opinion though.

Agree3 Disagree5

08 Aug 2017 21:50:25
He was player/ manager at Barnet resigned by mutual agreement as manager in January 2014. You really think he has the management quality to manage Hearts? Don't think so we need a seasoned manager with years of experience under his belt. Long term fix not short term.

09 Aug 2017 18:01:38
Can, t see the decision making process being that quick.

07 Aug 2017 12:05:44
McLaren in Edinburgh for talks.

07 Aug 2017 13:54:28
Hearts can get better.

08 Aug 2017 22:53:19
lol. Like NL?

08 Aug 2017 23:02:09
NL doing a great job at hibs so far mclaren only done one thing with a Dutch club and he will still be a puppet to the puppet master hearts can do far better.

09 Aug 2017 14:08:12
Hi hibsboy yes Lennon doing well, but how can you say McLaren is not good. He has a far better track record than most and yes he has been sacked before, but how many managers have not? . When Lennon arrived at hibs most supporters were not happy. Short memories. If McLaren gets job he will not get dictated to and his knowledge of football and his coaching skills, would be a huge coup for the glorious hearts and a massive boost for Scottish football. Just like Rogers, Lennon and McInnes. So bring it on.

09 Aug 2017 16:57:22
Levin needs booted out b4 jim jam fans really see who ever there new manager is can do it going to be same old same old levin has last word wait an see give it few games etc you see jon daly pop up an down again with instructions from levin . jim james need someone in who going to stand up an tell levin ssshhh i'm the boss here not you i do hope they get mclaren it about time an experience manager with pedigree was in the jim jam dug out.

09 Aug 2017 22:34:13
Hi harpo I'm not slating mclaren I'm stating he's only done 1 good thing in Dutch football and hearts deserve a proven manager you need to get rid of Levien as he runs the show there is no need for a director of football in the Scottish game and as long as Levien is there any manager coming in will answer to him but good luck for the season mate.

06 Aug 2017 15:41:16
Steve mclaren latest name to be thrown into the hotspot.

Agree2 Disagree2

06 Aug 2017 22:15:41
He has been in the frame for 5days!

07 Aug 2017 10:37:56
Mclaren yip type of manager jim jams need to tell levine sssshhhh i'm the boss here not you.

07 Aug 2017 13:54:02
Don't think he's the man for hearts, Levien will still be the puppet master.

09 Aug 2017 10:42:48
Would take SM in a heart beat.

09 Aug 2017 22:35:51
Under achiever and he' would still be a puppet to the puppet master hearts won't move forward till Levine goes.

03 Aug 2017 19:43:54
Bumped into levein today and he reckons a couple of weeks before a decision is made. He admitted that he and he alone chose cathro but the next manager will be a full board decision. They have to get it spot on this time.

Agree2 Disagree1

03 Aug 2017 23:21:28
Hope so but the problem now is that the new manager has to work with what he has from cathro and has no money to bing inhis own players and what manager in his right mind would work as a puppet nervous hear puppet master .?

04 Aug 2017 12:37:59
Owen coyle has apparently apllied for the job, we have to go for experience this time. If its true its a no brainer surely?!

04 Aug 2017 12:42:21

03 Aug 2017 17:07:24
Michael O'Neil will become new Hearts manager.

Agree1 Disagree3

03 Aug 2017 19:03:22
Where is that info coming from?

04 Aug 2017 10:08:24
Said that 2 days ago o. neill . seen on sky ravinelli name there too.

02 Aug 2017 23:03:26
Hearts looking at Sean Derry for to replace cathro mmmm good or bad?

Agree3 Disagree3

01 Aug 2017 23:26:15
The problem now isn't who comes in, it's what they do with a team off cathros and leviens cast offs and no money to bring in there own team I really hope hearts get a descent manager but I can't see it being Tommy Wright, and Alex Neil would want to much compensation so think that would leave Hartley, Locke, pressely, yogi, Ferguson all off which will still have to dance to levien S tune and not be there own man but good luck anyway.

Agree2 Disagree2

02 Aug 2017 11:30:15
Stevie clarke, Terry butcher, alex mcleish.

02 Aug 2017 11:37:28
stuart mccall. personally michael o'neill i think would do great job in spl.

02 Aug 2017 00:36:04
Darren ferguson worth a punt?

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Aug 2017 12:56:09
Some of names being banded about are stupid.
The next appointment has to be the right man for the club
no freak shows wanted. I would suggest cast iron candidates
either Wright or Houston. Stability, great knowledge, player motivators. That should be good enough to take Hearts up the league and challenge the Top club.

02 Aug 2017 13:07:27
Hearts will find the money to clear out who needs to go and who comes inπŸ˜„πŸ˜„.

02 Aug 2017 13:58:19
One man has all the credentials to fill the post and that is Graham Potter of Ostersund. Good track record of promotion and success in cup. Intelligent and would fit the image Mrs Budge would want.

02 Aug 2017 17:39:44
Where they going to find it from? they've used their quota. maybe Β£600,000 from rangers for walker?

01 Aug 2017 16:22:12
Next manager - alex neil?

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 16:58:40
Neil just took up a poat with PNE last month. Compenstion might be a problem.

01 Aug 2017 23:24:56
So he did lol stevie clarke? Just putting names other than ones you always get yogi hughes etc.

01 Aug 2017 13:50:01
I'd like Tommy wright he's worked miracles a St Johnstone but would he put up with leviens interference.

{Ed007's Note - It's not really interference though, it's part and parcel of working with a DOF. Cathro was no more than first team coach and had little input on recruitment etc and the next appointment will need to work under the same system unless there's a change above the coach (manager) level.}

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 16:23:42
Alex neil next through the door.

01 Aug 2017 12:56:55
Levein needs to go asap he interferes and causes disruption between manager and players he says one thing to manager and another to players.

Agree2 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 15:07:33
That's because it's his job! People need to remember he is in charge, and I quote Anne Budge directly, "of all footballing matters". So it's not interfering, it's doing what he is paid to do.

05 Aug 2017 12:00:38
Its the managers job to manage the team not leveins.

01 Aug 2017 12:13:24
We don't need a hearts legend as manager. We need an experienced manager who understands football. Paulo sergio for me. Unfinished business.

Agree0 Disagree1

01 Aug 2017 11:24:58
Well cathro is away, levien should have gone as well. yogi already said he's interested. might do a better job for use, descent guy.

01 Aug 2017 11:25:28

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 11:23:33
Who thinks we will get a proven manager, Levin dodges another bullet, Levin selected Cathro I guarantee he picks another in proven manager as no other manager would put up with his interference in the squad.

{Ed007's Note - Paul Hartley?}

Agree0 Disagree0

01 Aug 2017 16:24:46
Alex neil?

01 Aug 2017 09:45:29
Cathro sacked.

01 Aug 2017 10:06:52
Not true.

01 Aug 2017 10:22:49
True, thank God,

01 Aug 2017 10:26:33
Yes it's true. Gary Locke? What's the chances?

01 Aug 2017 10:31:08
Wouldn't think Gary Locke, I'd say Gary naismith,

01 Aug 2017 11:28:09
Naismith maybe but heard Paul Hartley's name bein throw about. Is that the same man who loved Hearts but kissed the Celtic badge? No Thanks next please. Need a hearts legend who loves the club like a Locke or nelison.

{Ed007's Note - Hearts legends? Won't they all be too old or too dead for the job?}

31 Jul 2017 07:41:52
Hearts looking to sign Newcastle keeper, the highly rated 20yr old is looking for first team football, however a number ofEFL clubs want him also. Levin must make this happen. Season long loan expected.

Agree1 Disagree3

30 Jul 2017 22:58:18
I have a strong feeling that Walker will be going. not worried about it however, we're going to get nowhere near the value we wanted.

Why am I not worried? If he's our 'best player' how come he has little impact in big games (excluding the Sevco game)? Dons have/ had Rooney, Christie, Pawlett, Hayes and McGinn- all of which could win big games themselves. Walker can't.

Personally, if he goes to sevco I really hope his career goes to πŸ’© And he only gets worse and worse and worse. never getting into the Scotland team and eventually has to watch his Pals- Souttar, McGhee, Hamilton and Paterson succeed because they were smarter.

Bye bye, over rated

I know that this is going to be the post that gets me ridiculed but to be honest, I read all the posts on here and half are nonsense and I wonder what that says about the poster. So this will be my last post, later.

Agree2 Disagree4

31 Jul 2017 10:33:41
You hope walkers career goes down hill. if he leaves, he leaves. no player is bigger than your club, plus you did not stand at Tynecastle, scarf in hand jumping and screaming if and when he scored against hibs, celtic, rangers etc.

You probably thought, get in there, brill walker. so if he done his time at hearts same as paterson, stevenson, wallace etc. when they left be a man and say cheers for your service. now you support who's still with your club or who signs.

31 Jul 2017 15:02:38
Did I not? Okay, must've been my clone then.

31 Jul 2017 20:05:38
To be honest, my view on CP is worse- we played a crucial part with his rehabilitation yet he didn't feel like repaying the club that he loves? OKay mate, enjoy Wales.

31 Jul 2017 23:04:27
Get your point bad news hearts or so rehablitate players an do one etc

just your post on walker lads done his time wants new challenge etc like lots of players at clubs do but do agree after clubs stick by and rehab lads they should show more support for the clubs.

01 Aug 2017 09:21:08
The three players of Pat, Nich and Walker were supposed to be our big pay day. so far we've lost two and only gained Β£400000. let's hope they get sold for big money in the future so these sell on clauses get us some cash.

01 Aug 2017 13:25:01
Patterson and Nicholson left on a free, you will never get a penny from their future transfers. You will get 700k max spread over 3 years for Walker or you will lose him fore nothing next year.

the jambos have really messed things up over the last couple of years. 100% leviens fault.

29 Jul 2017 20:16:02
Game over for cathro and levein. They both must go. No shape to the line up, no visible tactics, no fight, passion, desire. need I say anymore. This could be a long season.

Agree5 Disagree0

30 Jul 2017 08:14:20
Both need to go, Levin needs to sign proven manager youth academy reds it, when are fans going to realise that Levin is controlling everything too in experienced Managers being mentored by Levin, either Levin steps up or he leave alone.

30 Jul 2017 14:22:54
Not a hearts fan but personally levin needs to ship out of hearts i don't think cathro has final say looking at his expressions while on tv in dugout or doing interviews etc either cathro grows a pair stands up tells levin or he ain't got a chance in hell at hearts . levin picking team transfers etc etc an cathro will be the fall guy if all goes tits up as levin sits back with a smile pondering his next ploy to make scapegoat if goes tits up again.

30 Jul 2017 21:21:52
news for you guys yogi Hughes is interested in the hearts job if it becomes available, think he would be better than cathro but not sure the fans would welcome this but hearts deserve better than the chuckle brothers.

28 Jul 2017 18:43:37
The walker contract will be signed but towards the end of transfer deadline and heard we are looking at goalkeeper not got a name yet as soon as I have I will let you know.

Agree2 Disagree2

28 Jul 2017 20:47:36
Let's hope so.

Sick of the stick Hamilton gets. Promising young keeper.
Ten times better than VN.

29 Jul 2017 00:39:59
Walker dropped from today's squad acording to the currant bun.
Is the contract he's signing this week for another club's?

29 Jul 2017 08:19:33
Was just coming on to post that!
I personally wouldn't sell him, I'd omit him from the squad all year.

30 Jul 2017 08:17:38
He has to play, these players get paid based on a signed contract. Hearts needed him yesterday Levin/ Cathro got it wrong, we missed him in middle of the park hence long ball constantly,

27 Jul 2017 20:46:31
Heard from Dundee united fan today that Bjorn Johnsen was at Tannidice for loan talks today. No idea if it's true, seems unlikely to me as I think he would get better offers abroad but that's the rumour.

Also read today that st Johnston are looking at Sammon.

Be glad to see them both go although I feel another manager would get more out of both players.

I'm not a Cathro out man, and I really like all players we have bought in this summer but having watched the east fife game I do have concerns for the season ahead. 2 passes to get to a wide man instead of one 30 yard straight forward pass, also noticed far to many passes behind players causing them to come back. At amateur level you get told to play the ball infront to allow the player to come onto. Smith would have terrorised their full back with all the room he had with more but instead had to come back to collect the ball and then passed it back inside as the space was gone. It's pre season but I still expected better, simple things that lift the tempo and allow us to get in behind teams before they get the numbers back.

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Jul 2017 08:24:27
The quality of the EF game was reduced due to the horrific conditions, I was watching it on Hearts TV in Greece (so the connection was awful) but the prominent sound was the torrential rain.

I've read (a while back) English clubs were interested in Bjorn but nothing's come of it. which is a shame.

Heard about Sammon too, I think it will happen for sure.

Don't worry yet, plenty of time for some more quality signings!

28 Jul 2017 16:07:46
Yiou think Sammon will happen for sure.
Have they not agreed terms with Myles Storey of Aberdeen?

26 Jul 2017 09:29:42
Walker will sign new contract at hearts he has his sights set on big move down south I have heard at least 2 EPL clubs keeping a watchful eye on him but he needs to have a good season at hearts for this to happen.

Can't see anything on tv or on sites where's the sorce.

27 Jul 2017 09:30:51
Don't care, the bloke has got many things correct; I'm hoping this is too!

27 Jul 2017 16:44:02
Hope he has think he should stay.

25 Jul 2017 22:16:10
That's probably Walker off then; why would he stay at a team who can't even beat a pathetic team.

Djoum needs to go- thinks because he got into the Cameroon squad he's suddenly too good for us? No, bye bye.

Don't like all the abuse directed at hamilton every single game; he's still a young keeper and has more experience than most at his age- he'll get better with time.

Humiliating that they were outplaying us for the time that they did; just not good enough, not Cathro'a fault- I can't stand these 'Cathrine Oot' fans either.

One good thing is Lafferty scored again; already a quarter of the way to his 20 goal season! Let's hope he can score at our level.

Agree2 Disagree1

25 Jul 2017 22:43:36
Oh wait, a fifth- he's only scored four right?
